Wi-Pics is a remarkable wireless system that can organize images via bar code
and instantly send them to a computer in the studio or to its own device for transmitting
when on-location for sports, events, etc. It saves vast amounts sorting and downloading
time, and while shooting it is like having a wireless tether. The system brings
a photographer's workflow into the 21st century.
Even if you don't care about the wireless, arranging images in storage and
not having to download CF cards makes Wi-Pics pay off big. You shoot and bar
code on-location without a computer. Or shoot/organize images in the studio
without without cards or cables.
The system gives photographers connectivity to transfer their images instantly
and automatically to a remote server or workstation and simultaneously provides
redundant backup image storage. Wi-Pics sends images to a computer when you're
in the studio or to its own device for transmitting when you're on-location
for sports, events, etc. It is like a wireless tether. No need for extra compact
flash cards and their problems and cost. Wi-Pics can handle bursts and can embed
bar code identifiers on images and through data association, allows you to rename
your files with critical search data at the moment of capture.
Use of Wi-Pics requires no modification of camera hardware of firmware, and
does not impact camera buffer performance or battery life. Wi-Pics was designed
around the concept that photographers should be free to devote their attention
to capturing great images,without being disk-jockeys or couriers for flash memory
cards.
As a replacement for interchangeable flash cards, the Wi-Pics system improves
workflow reliability. It makes any CompactFlash Type II compatible digital camera
to transmit images via wireless and wired networks. The system includes a belt
pack, camera interface card and connecting cable.
