The Epson Stylus Pro 7900 (24") and its larger sibling, the Pro 9900 (44") introduce some major advantages, including more print heads (360), 10 inks (instead of 8), a new type of ink, larger cartridges (150ml and 700ml) which result in lower print costs, an automatic cutter, and an optional spectrophotmeter for color control. They use the new UltraChrome HDR inks, which are high density resin coated pigment inks formulated for three level black ink, two magentas, an orange and a green. Included are auto nozzle verficiation and cleaning and auto switching between black inks.

Prints up to 13" widths. Uses famed Epson UltraChrome K3 ink set with vivid magenta. Promises excellent color gamut for brilliant blues, purples and reds. Includes Epson's "Radiance" features to achieve smooth color transitions and improved highlight and shadow detail. Uses three levels of black for gray balance and good tonal range. Includes a special mode that optimizes black-and- white prints. Uses a range of roll media from fine art paper to 1.3 mm thick art board. Has one-inch wide print head and includes an automatic nozzle check.
